West Mesa have no trouble against Eldorado

Recap: West Mesa Mustangs vs. Eldorado Golden Eagles

On Friday, The West Mesa Mustangs faced the Eldorado Golden Eagles in a battle between two of the state's top teams. West Mesa strolled past Eldorado with points to spare, taking the game 39-21. The victory made it back-to-back wins for West Mesa.

Elijah Brody was his usual excellent self, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 104 yards and two touchdowns. Brody is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Sharp, who gained 135 total yards and a touchdown.

Eldorado's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Johnpaul Ludi, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Josiah Mitchell, who picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown.

West Mesa's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Eldorado, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-6.

West Mesa will square off against Rio Rancho at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Mexico (Rio Rancho is ranked 14th, while West Mesa is ranked 16th). Eldorado does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
