Softball Recap: Gowanda Gets the Win

After losing to Silver Creek the last time they met, Gowanda decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Panthers came out on top against the Black Knights by a score of 7-3 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Addison Kota was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alayna Fish, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.

Gowanda's record now sits at 9-6. As for Silver Creek, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Gowanda does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Silver Creek, they will take on Brocton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
