Basketball Game Preview: Turlock Christian Eagles vs. River Islands Riptide

Two dominant guards in Michael Miller and Idrees ElFarra are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Turlock Christian Eagles will be playing at home against the River Islands Riptide at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Turlock Christian turned things around against Millennium on Saturday. They came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 61-51.

Turlock Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Miller, who went 10 for 21 on his way to 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists, and Cam Kelley, who went 8 of 16 en route to 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least a third of Turlock Christian's points. Winston York was another key player, putting up four points in addition to seven boards and six assists.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Turlock Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, River Islands got the win against Ben Holt College Prep Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 75-53.

The win got River Islands back to even at 11-11. As for Turlock Christian, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 7-14.
