Basketball Recap: Sun Valley Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Sun Valley lost against Forest Hills back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Sun Valley Spartans fell to the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets 48-42.

Forest Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Leyah Melton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten assists. Melton is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Azariya Griffin was another key player, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 21 boards.

Sun Valley's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-6. As for Forest Hills, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Sun Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cuthbertson at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Forest Hills, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-14 win against Central Academy on the 17th.
