Softball Recap: Beatty Takes a Loss

Beatty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 20-5 to the Mountain View Christian Saints. If the Hornets were looking for revenge after losing 30-15 to the Saints when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jazmin Covarrubias-Dimas stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2. Melody Vargas also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Beatty's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Mountain View Christian, they picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 3-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Saints beat Beatty by a score of 16-1 later that day.
