Soccer Recap: Paso Robles Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Paso Robles was not quite Pioneer Valley's equal in the second half on Friday. They fell just short of the Pioneer Valley Panthers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 477th, while the Panthers are ranked 137th).

Paso Robles has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season. As for Pioneer Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Paso Robles will face off against Righetti at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Righetti is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season. Pioneer Valley has already played their next game (against Arroyo Grande), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
