Soccer Recap: Burleson Comes Up Short

Burleson lost to Birdville back in January of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Elks fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 2-1.

Burleson's goal came courtesy of Ivan Cardona, who's now up to four this season.

Burleson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's still a better percentage than their 1-6-1 record this season. As for Birdville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6-1.

Burleson and Birdville will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Elks are set to take on their familiar foe Everman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Birdville will face off against rival Denton at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
