Basketball Recap: Anacortes' Loss Ends 16-Game Winning Streak at Home

Anacortes entered their game against Meridian on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Anacortes Seahawks took a 57-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Meridian Trojans. The contest marked the Seahawks' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Anacortes' defeat ended a 16-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-2. As for Meridian, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Anacortes will host Ferndale at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Ferndale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Meridian, they will square off against Nooksack Valley at 5:40 p.m. on Monday. Meridian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Nooksack Valley likes a good challenge.
