Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers vs. Hamtramck Cosmos

The Mt. Clemens Battling Bathers will head out on the road to square off against the Hamtramck Cosmos at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hamtramck took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Mt. Clemens, who comes in off a win.

Hamtramck will be up against a hot Mt. Clemens team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Mt. Clemens walked away with a 40-32 victory over Detroit Community on Friday.

Leah Williams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 21 boards. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaidah Williams, who posted seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.

Mt. Clemens smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Hamtramck was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They were outmatched by Arbor Prep and fell 58-25.

Hamtramck's defeat dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Mt. Clemens, their record is now 6-7.

Mt. Clemens was dealt a bruising 55-23 loss at the hands of Hamtramck in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can Mt. Clemens avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
