It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Mt. Vernon had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Liberty Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mountaineers.

When it comes to explaining why Liberty lost, don't look at Kinsey Shoup. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two aces. Shoup has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 23-7-2. As for Liberty, with the defeat, they broke their seven-match winning streak and moved their record to 22-9-4.

Mt. Vernon has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Sullivan on the 1st. Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
