Basketball Recap: Zavier Bolden's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Slidell over Northshore

After flying high against Chalmette last Friday, Slidell came back down to earth. The Slidell Tigers received a blow on Tuesday as they fell 70-55 to the Northshore Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zavier Bolden, who went 6 of 8 en route to 14 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Bolden a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Kolby Rachel, who posted 11 points and five assists.

Slidell has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 18-10 record this season. As for Northshore, the win (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 22-6.

Slidell has already played their next game, a 59-52 victory against Zachary on the 5th. As for Northshore, they are taking a road trip to square off against Salmen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
