Basketball Game Preview: Reading Blue Devils vs. Taylor Yellowjackets

The Reading Blue Devils will venture away from home to face off against the Taylor Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reading is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Last Friday, Reading came up short against Deer Park and fell 49-38. While the Blue Devils didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wildcats 14-9 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. 2025 welcomed they with a 56-32 loss courtesy of Madeira. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Yellowjackets have suffered against the MUSTANGS/AMAZONS since February 9, 2019.

Reading's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Taylor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Things could have been worse for Reading, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-36 loss to Taylor when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Reading avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
