Soccer Game Preview: Palma vs. Alisal

The Palma Chieftains will take on the Alisal Trojans at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Palma will be strutting in after a win while Alisal will be coming in after a defeat.

Palma's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They came out on top against Greenfield by a score of 2-0. That's two games straight that the Chieftains have won by exactly two goals.

Meanwhile, Alisal managed to keep up with Bellarmine College Prep until halftime two weeks ago, but things quickly went downhill from there. Alisal came up short against Bellarmine College Prep, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 428th, while the Bells are ranked 157th).

Alisal's loss dropped their record down to 3-2-1. As for Palma, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Palma suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Alisal in their previous matchup back in January of 2018. Can Palma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
