Volleyball Recap: Santa Teresa Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hill on Tuesday, Santa Teresa came back down to earth. The Saints fell just short of the Pioneer Mustangs by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in April.

Santa Teresa wouldn't go down easily and took Pioneer into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-21, 23-25, 17-25, 25-21, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Santa Teresa still got an impressive performance from Mason Han, who had 48 assists and five digs. Han is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 17 or more in each of the last ten games he's played.

Santa Teresa's loss dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Pioneer, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4.

Santa Teresa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Christopher on the 5th. As for Pioneer, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Westmont on the 5th.
