Football Recap: Cherokee Bluff Bears vs. Oconee County Warriors

Cherokee Bluff put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 17-10 win over the Oconee County Warriors. The 17-point effort marked the Bears' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Brooks Brien was his usual excellent self, throwing for 191 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Cherokee Bluff got some further help from Connor Griffin: he picked up 1.5 sacks and made six total tackles (2.5 for loss).

Despite the loss, Oconee County still got an impressive performance from Caiden Wood, who rushed for 107 yards and a touchdown.

Cherokee Bluff pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Oconee County, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherokee Bluff will venture away from home to square off against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee Bluff's defense has only allowed 14 points per game this season, so Jefferson's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Oconee County, they will head out to face off against Monroe Area at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
