Baseball Recap: Boothbay Comes Up Short

Boothbay couldn't beat Mount View on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Seahawks came up short against the Mustangs, falling 16-6. The Seahawks' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Sam Markowitz made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Boothbay is 2-1 when Markowitz posts three or more RBI, but 2-7 otherwise. Tyson French also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Boothbay's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Mount View, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Boothbay will welcome Dirigo at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mount View, they will head out on the road to square off against Winslow at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs are facing the Black Raiders at the right time seeing as the Black Raiders are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
