Softball Recap: Moscow Bears vs. Lakeland Hawks
Moscow extended their losing streak to 13 on Friday, dropping them down to 2-23. They lost 12-1 to the Lakeland Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, with their most recent loss being a 12-2 defeat last Thursday.
Moscow saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madilyn Hennrich, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
As for Lakeland, their win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 20-5. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
On Lakeland's side, Reece Dutton spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up ten Ks. Dutton has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ada Blakemore was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and one double while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Raygen Dutton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Moscow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lakeland, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 victory against Sandpoint on the 8th.
