Notre Dame Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 28-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pomperaug Panthers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 23-13 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.
Notre Dame Prep wouldn't let Pomperaug keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Notre Dame Prep can thank Jordan Allen and Kaydon Rudd for forcing both of them. Allen is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season.
Johnny Gogas continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pomperaug, rushing for 347 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry. Those 347 rushing yards gave Gogas a new career-high.
Notre Dame Prep's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pomperaug, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-7.
