Baseball Recap: Milford Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Milford waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Goshen Warriors 12-2. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Joe Cafferky looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mason Bargo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jake McGrath, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Milford was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive games.

Milford pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Goshen, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-4.

Coming up, Milford will challenge Walnut Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Goshen, they will head out on the road to square off against Miami Trace at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
