Recap: Durand Bulldogs vs. Orangeville Broncos
The Durand Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were dealt a 59-18 defeat at the hands of Orangeville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Durand in their matchups with Orangeville: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, Durand had strong showings from Lola Robertson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds, and Vaida Lahey, who scored no points.
Durand's defeat was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-12. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 14.7 points per game. As for Orangeville, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-1.
Durand will be playing at home against Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Orangeville, Orangeville and Ashton-Franklin Center will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ashton-Franklin Center will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Orangeville is ranked 49th).
