Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Dunne Falcons vs. North Texas C Crusaders

The Bishop Dunne Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the North Texas C Crusaders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Dunne has given up an average of 7.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bishop Dunne was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Bethesda Christian 14-13. The high-scoring effort was just what the Falcons needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Timothy Clifford and Kameron Briggs did most of the damage at the plate: Clifford scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Briggs scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, Briggs posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Arellano, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, North Texas C was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of CHAAMP HomeSchool.

North Texas C saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Pasatieri, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Bishop Dunne's win bumped their record up to 5-11-1. As for North Texas C, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.

Tuesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bishop Dunne has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .446. However, it's not like North Texas C struggles in that department as they've averaged .467. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
