Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Cumberland). They blew past the Mt. Hope Huskies 21-1 on Thursday. With that  victory, the Clippers brought their scoring average up to 7.2  runs per game.
Cumberland got a great performance from  Marcus Gomes as he  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. Gomes has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 At the plate, Cumberland let  Andrew Nocera and  Micah Cousineau run wild. Nocera  went a perfect 2-for-2 with two  runs, one  triple,  and one  stolen base, while  Cousineau  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. The dominant performance also gave  Nocera a new career-high in  RBI (two). Another player making a difference was  Brody Enos, who  went 1-for-2 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Cumberland  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .585. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Cumberland's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 9-4. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Hope,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-12.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Cumberland will  face off against  rival Cranston West  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Mt. Hope is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Cranston East  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
