Soccer Game Preview: Chaparral vs. Independence

Chaparral hasn't had much luck against Independence recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Chaparral Firebirds will welcome the Independence Patriots at 2:00 p.m. Chaparral's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Chaparral is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They skirted past Flowing Wells 2-1. The victory continues a trend for the Firebirds in their matchups with the Caballeros: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Independence hadn't done well against Ironwood recently (they were 0-5 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Independence came out on top against Ironwood by a score of 3-1.

Independence's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Chaparral, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
