Football Recap: Zeeland West Takes a Loss + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Zeeland West can now relate to. They fell just short of the Lowell Red Arrows by a score of 36-34 on Friday. The Dux were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Arrows apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.

Despite the loss, Zeeland West still got an impressive performance from Brandon Holman, who rushed for 170 yards and three TDs on only 13 carries. With that strong performance, Holman is now averaging an impressive 103.2 rushing yards per game.

Lowell's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wyatt Putnam, who rushed for 94 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 110 yards on only six passes. The Red Arrows also got a significant boost from Marek Pullen, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 106 yards.

Zeeland West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lowell, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-2.

Zeeland West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lowell, they will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The Oilers' defense has only allowed 12 points per game this season, so the Red Arrows' offense will have their work cut out for them.
