Soccer Recap: Currituck County Comes Up Short

Currituck County lost against Great Bridge back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights fell 2-0 to the Wildcats. While losing is never fun, Currituck County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 182nd in North Carolina, while Great Bridge are ranked seventh in Virginia).

This is the second loss in a row for Currituck County and nudges their season record down to 5-6-1. As for Great Bridge, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Currituck County has already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against Camden County on the 9th. As for Great Bridge, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Nansemond River at 7:00 p.m. on the 22nd. The game will give Great Bridge their first taste of in-conference action this season.
