Basketball Game Preview: Surry Central Golden Eagles vs. Community School of Davidson Spartans

Two dominant guards in Tripp Mcmillen and Dermot Lowry are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Surry Central Golden Eagles will be playing at home against the Community School of Davidson Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Surry Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 25 contests -- so hopefully Community School of Davidson likes a good challenge.

Despite the loss, Surry Central got top-tier performance from Mcmillen, who dropped a double-double with 31 points and ten boards. Mcmillen's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Damen Hazelwood, who en route to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Surry Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Community School of Davidson was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 58-54 to Corvian Community.

Surry Central's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Community School of Davidson, their loss dropped their record down to 15-11.
