Basketball Recap: Aubrie Waugh and Kylee Barnes Secure Win for Calhan

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Calhan had no problem doing just that on Friday. They walked away with a 43-33 victory over the Plateau Valley Cowboys. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Calhan was led to victory by Kylee Barnes and Aubrie Waugh. Barnes posted 12 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Waugh put up 12 points and five steals. Waugh has become a key player for Calhan: the team is 8-1 when she posts at least three steals, but 7-8 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Haley Gerhart, who earned four points.

Calhan's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for Plateau Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Calhan has already played their next match, a 74-24 loss against Merino on the 8th. Plateau Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
