Volleyball Game Preview: Wickliffe Blue Devils vs. Norwayne Bobcats

The Wickliffe Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Norwayne Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wickliffe has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with 14 straight defeats, while Norwayne will come in with 14 straight victories.

Wickliffe lost 3-0 to Chagrin Falls last Thursday.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-16.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Norwayne duked it out with Canton South on Thursday. The Bobcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Wildcats.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Norwayne was: they took every set by at least 16 points. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-4, 25-8.

Norwayne's win came from a few key players Wickliffe will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Morgan Lance, who had nine digs and one assist. Another player making a difference was Laney Dudte, who had seven digs and one assist.

Norwayne was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Wickliffe's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Norwayne, their record is now 20-3.

Wickliffe came up short against Norwayne in their previous meeting back in September of 2017, falling 2-0. Can the Blue Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
