Basketball Recap: Bassick Find Success

Bassick was handed a 35-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They skirted past the Bridgeport Central Hilltoppers 42-40. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 46-37 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bridgeport Central lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elaina Cintron, who posted six points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Keyanna Kendrick, who put up eight points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

The win got Bassick back to even at 1-1. As for Bridgeport Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.

Bassick and Joel Barlow will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bridgeport Central will take on Harding in a holiday battle at at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
