Soccer Game Preview: Fideles Christian vs. The King's Academy

Fideles Christian is 0-3 against The King's Academy since March of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Rangers will venture away from home to challenge the Knights at 6:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Fideles Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Scholars Guild Academy an 8-0 shutout. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Fideles Christian's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 148th, while Scholars Guild Academy are ranked 371st).

Fideles Christian's offense was hitting Scholars Guild Academy from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Waverly Brown led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, The King's Academy strolled into their game on Tuesday with an undefeated record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on Meadowcreek with a sharp 9-2 victory. With The King's Academy ahead 8-1 at the half, the match was all but over already.

The King's Academy's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-0-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 42 goals over those six contests. As for Fideles Christian, they moved to 7-5-1 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Fideles Christian suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to The King's Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Rangers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
