Preview: Power Center Academy Knights vs. Ridgeway Roadrunners

The Power Center Academy Knights are on the road again on Thursday and plays the Ridgeway Roadrunners at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st. Power Center Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Roadrunners are ranked 19th).

Last Tuesday, Power Center Academy came up short against the Golden Wildcats and fell 54-43. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Power Center Academy in their matchups with the Golden Wildcats: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Ridgeway entered their tilt with the Cougars with eight consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with nine. Ridgeway walked away with an 89-78 win over the Cougars on Tuesday. Ridgeway's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Brian Carter Jr. was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Emanuel Allen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Power Center Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Ridgeway, they pushed their record up to 15-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Things could have been worse for Power Center Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 71-55 loss to the Roadrunners in their previous meeting back in November of 2019. Can Power Center Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
