Baseball Recap: Vassar Starts Season with Loss at Home

Vassar unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Harbor Beach Pirates on Wednesday. The Vulcans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Vassar saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Rondo, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Vassar and Harbor Beach will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vulcans are set to face off against their familiar foe Cass City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Harbor Beach will take on rival Ubly at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
