Basketball Recap: Huguenot Takes a Loss

Huguenot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 60-30 loss at the hands of the L.C. Bird Skyhawks. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-8.

L.C. Bird's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lauren Johnson, who posted ten points. The dominant performance gave Johnson a new career-high in points. Neya-Myah Lancaster was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Huguenot's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for L.C. Bird, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huguenot will venture away from home to face off against Powhatan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Powhatan will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Huguenot surely won't give up without a fight. As for L.C. Bird, they will square off against James River Midlothian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
