            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Akron). They put the hurt on the Fleming Wildcats with a sharp  67-44 win on Tuesday. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.
Akron's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Caleb Poss, who  dropped  a double-double on 18 points and ten  boards. Poss has become a key player for Akron: the team is 4-1 when he posts  at  least  ten  rebounds, but 2-5 otherwise.  Tucker Stahn also deserves some recognition as  he  posted his first  block of the season.

 Akron  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 17  offensive boards. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.
 Fleming's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Travis Johnson, who  posted eight  points in addition to 13  boards and five  blocks, and  Derek Houser, who  put up ten points. Those ten  points gave  Houser a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Wyatt Sonnenberg, who  scored eight points.
Akron is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four games,  which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record  this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Fleming,  they are  on  an  11-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.
 Akron didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  match,  a  56-49  win against Holyoke on the 24th. Fleming has also  already played their next contest,  a  68-36  loss against Peetz on the 24th.
