Volleyball Game Preview: Central Cobras vs. Legacy Lions

The Central Cobras are taking a road trip to take on the Legacy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.

Central won the last time they faced Lincoln Park Academy and Alexis Clements did her part to make sure it happened again. The Cobras skirted past the Greyhounds 3-2 thanks in part to Clements, who had eight aces and seven digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.2 aces per game.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Central who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 24-26, 25-13, 25-27, 15-8.

Meanwhile, Legacy was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Mary on Saturday, taking the game 2-0.

Legacy found their leader in sophomore Paisley Woods, who had nine digs and three assists.

Legacy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in four consecutive matches.

Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 16-7. As for Central, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Central has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 9.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10.4 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
