Basketball Recap: Grovemont Comes Up Short

Grovemont lost against Chatham HomeSchool back in October and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans took a 54-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunder. The game marked the Spartans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Luke Coletta continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chatham HomeSchool, almost dropping a double-double with 26 points and nine boards. The matchup was Coletta's 11th in a row with at least 16 points. Eli Cunningham was another key player, putting up seven rebounds, five steals, and three blocks.

Grovemont has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Chatham HomeSchool, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-5 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grovemont will welcome South Wake at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th. As for Chatham HomeSchool, they will be playing at home against Forsyth Home Educators at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder's defense better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 51.1 points per game this season.
