Basketball Game Preview: Madawaska Owls vs. Dexter Tigers

The Madawaska Owls will face off against the Dexter Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Madawaska knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matchups -- so hopefully Dexter likes a good challenge.

Last Thursday, Madawaska came up short against Fort Fairfield and fell 77-65. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Owls came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Tigers are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Dexter rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-38 win over the Tigers. The victory was nothing new for Dexter as they're now sitting on three straight.

Madawaska's loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-1. As for Dexter, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.

Madawaska ended up a good deal behind Dexter in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, losing 50-33. Can Madawaska avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
