Softball Game Preview: Rutherford Rams vs. Bay Tornadoes

Rutherford is 0-10 against Bay since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Rutherford Rams will welcome the Bay Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. Rutherford has given up an average of 14.6 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Rutherford fell victim to Walton and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Braves, falling 20-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Bay made sure to put some runs up on the board against Wakulla Christian School on Tuesday. Bay was the clear victors by an 18-7 margin over Wakulla Christian School. With that win, the Tornadoes brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

McKenna Case was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one stolen base. Breahna Peace was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI and one run.

Case wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Bay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Bay pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Rutherford, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
