Soccer Recap: Mead's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mead hadn't done well against Gonzaga Prep recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Panthers' defense stepped up to hand the Bullpups a 2-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Mead's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Gonzaga Prep are ranked 130th).

Rylee Vanos and Nora Cullen scored both of Mead's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

The victory was the third in a row for Mead, bringing their record up to 6-2-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Gonzaga Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6-1.
