Baseball Recap: Rocky Mountain Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

Rocky Mountain won the last time they faced Timberline and things went their way on Friday too. The Grizzlies blew past the Wolves 10-3. Considering the Grizzlies have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Lincoln Mathis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Javin Ellett was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jeff Thompson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Rocky Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Timberline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

Coincidentally, Rocky Mountain and Timberline will both be playing Boise the next time they take the field. The Grizzlies will host the Brave at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Wolves will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
