Soccer Game Preview: China Spring vs. La Vega

The China Spring Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the La Vega Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

La Vega better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when China Spring really get things going. China Spring's defense stepped up to hand Connally a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Skylar Hicks and London Leatham scored all four of China Spring's goals, bringing their combined season tally to six goals.

Meanwhile, La Vega won against Connally last Friday with three goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. La Vega was the clear victor by a 3-0 margin over Meyer. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pirates.

China Spring has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those six matchups. As for La Vega, their win bumped their record up to 3-4.
