Westwood is 8-2 against River Dell since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cardinals will head out to square off against the Golden Hawks at 4:15 p.m.
Things were looking good for Westwood after they put the first run on the board on Saturday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 7-4 to Paramus Catholic. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Westwood got a good showing from Cooper Smith, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Smith has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
At the plate, Charles Sarlo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Joe Cerritelli was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one double.
Meanwhile, River Dell can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Emerson by a score of 7-3. The game was the first time the Golden Hawks have beaten the Cavaliers on their field since April 16, 2016.
Alex Silverstein made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Silverstein was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, David Nunez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nathan Silverstein, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
River Dell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
River Dell's record is now 4-5. As for Westwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-5.
Everything went Westwood's way against River Dell in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Westwood made off with a 13-3 victory. Do the Cardinals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Golden Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
