Basketball Recap: Tolland Falls Short Against Ranked Glastonbury

On Monday, Tolland faced Glastonbury in a battle between two of the state's top teams. 2025 welcomed the Tolland Eagles with a 72-52 loss courtesy of the Glastonbury Guardians. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 82-43 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

David Smith was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds for Glastonbury. With that strong performance, Smith is now averaging an impressive 8.6 rebounds per game. Mike Carroll was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Tolland's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Glastonbury, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Tolland will host Manchester at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Glastonbury, they will head out to face off against East Hartford at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
