Softball Recap: Timberline Gets the Win

Timberline hadn't done well against Mountain View recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Timberline walked away with a 5-1 victory over Mountain View. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Delaney Wright spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ysabela Pereira was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Ashlyn Graklanoff was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

Timberline's record now sits at 7-1. As for Mountain View, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Timberline will welcome Skyview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Timberline's pitchers better be ready for this one: Skyview has averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Bishop Kelly at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Bishop Kelly will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Mountain View surely won't give up without a fight.
