Baseball Recap: Rogers Comes Up Short

Rogers lost against Lima Senior back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Rams came up short against the Spartans, falling 12-2. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rogers saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Davenport, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Davenport has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Ethan Hendrick also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Rogers' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Lima Senior, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-7.

Looking ahead, Rogers will host Mansfield Senior at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lima Senior, they will venture away from home to square off against Wapakoneta at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Redskins will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
