Softball Recap: St. Paul Wins Going Away Against St. Anthony

While St. Paul put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for St. Anthony. St. Paul was the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over St. Anthony. The victory continues a trend for the Swordsmen in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won three in a row.

St. Anthony's batters probably weren't too happy with Gianelle Napoles, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up three walks). Those 11 strikeouts gave Napoles a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aleena Gutierrez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Addisyn Navasu also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

St. Paul's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-9. As for St. Anthony, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-4.
