Football Game Preview: Ridgemont Golden Gophers vs. Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers

The Ridgemont Golden Gophers will head out to face off against the Waynesfield-Goshen Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ridgemont will be strutting in after a victory while Waynesfield-Goshen will be coming in after a defeat.

Ridgemont barely beat Cory-Rawson the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Golden Gophers took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 42-7 win over the Fighting Hornets. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Gophers in their matchups with the Fighting Hornets: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Waynesfield-Goshen's offense. They received a blow on Friday as they fell 17-0 to Ridgedale. The game marked the first time this season in which the Tigers were not able to get on the board.

Waynesfield-Goshen moved to 5-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Ridgemont, they now also have a winning record of 5-4.

Ridgemont didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Waynesfield-Goshen in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with an 18-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Gophers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
