Softball Recap: Owen Valley Patriots vs. Indian Creek Braves

Owen Valley can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent game on Wednesday. They blew past the Indian Creek Braves 11-5. Winning may never get old, but Owen Valley sure is getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Haley Amador looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, Owen Valley got a massive performance out of Taylor Monroe, who went 1-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. Monroe is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as she's now launched at least one in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kalyn Greene, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.

On Indian Creek's side, Jasmine Day was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with three RBI. Kristen Soots was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-5.

Even though they lost, Indian Creek hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owen Valley struck out six times.

Owen Valley pushed their record up to 11-5 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for Indian Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Owen Valley will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Daviess at 5:30 p.m. As for Indian Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Shelbyville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Indian Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
