Softball Recap: Mount Tahoma Takes a Loss

Mount Tahoma had lost three straight on the road, but on Monday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it four. They came up short against the Peninsula Seahawks, falling 10-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Thunderbirds were not able to get on the board.

As for Peninsula, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.1 runs.

For Peninsula's part, Paige Jones was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Jones has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Coming up, Mount Tahoma will venture away from home to square off against Central Kitsap at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Thunderbirds' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Peninsula, they will host Capital at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Seahawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
