Baseball Recap: Grand Valley Takes a Loss

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Grand Valley was a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They came up short against the Olathe Pirates, falling 12-1. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Grand Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Palcer, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Grand Valley's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Olathe, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-9 record.

Coming up, Grand Valley will venture away from home to square off against Grand Junction Central at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Olathe, they will welcome Rangely at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.54 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of.
